The short version: we don't collect anything, and your stories stay on your device.

Stick Figure Storytime is designed so that your stories stay yours. This policy covers the Stick Figure Storytime app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and this website.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it never sends your stories to us or to anyone else. On Android, if you choose to turn on the Smart Director, a Google component sends Google basic diagnostic information; see Smart Director below.

Where your stories live

On your device only, in the app's private storage. Deleting a story or the app removes it. If you use device backups (iCloud on iPhone and iPad, Google backup on Android), your stories are included in those backups under your Apple Account or Google Account, like any other app data.

Smart Director

The Smart Director is optional and off until you turn it on in the app's Settings. When it's on, it uses a language model that runs on your device to better understand your sentences. While it's off, the app doesn't check for or use the model at all. You can turn it off again at any time.

iPhone and iPad: the app uses Apple's on-device model (Apple Intelligence). Your text is processed on your device, and the app does not send it to any server.

Android: the app uses Google's Gemini Nano model, which runs on your device through Google's ML Kit. Your text is processed on your device, and the app does not send it to us or to any server. While the Smart Director is on, ML Kit itself sends Google basic diagnostic and usage information, such as your device model, Android and app versions, performance and error codes, and an installation identifier. Google describes this in its ML Kit data disclosure. With the Smart Director off, which is the default, the app doesn't call ML Kit.

Children

We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts, no chat, no ads and no way to share stories with strangers.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or third-party scripts, and its fonts and images are served from this site. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and running.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
